Title: BC´s ‘spineless’ biodiversity: Present patterns and future challenges
BC is home to an astonishing diversity of life, with a rich assemblage of aquatic invertebrates in our coastal waters, the deep sea (including hot vents) and lakes and streams. Color images from over 30 years of underwater photography by RBCM staff will highlight this diversity and provide a platform for introducing newly emerging trends from DNA-based studies. A brief rundown of some of the most pressing conservation issues faced by BC´s spineless aquatic life will round out the lecture. Come and enjoy the talk (and please bring your questions)!
