Want to bring BC History alive in your classroom?
Do you want to inspire curiosity about people in BC's past or interesting members of your community? Would you like your students to make a real contribution to BC history? You've come to the right place. The Teachers' Room has everything you need to bring BC History to life for your students.
We are looking for stories (written or videotaped) about everyday British Columbians who have led extraordinary lives. When your students contribute a story, it will be posted on the People's History Project website, becoming a real part of BC History. Their submissions may even be selected for inclusion in the Free Spirit: Stories of you, me and BC Exhibition, at the Royal BC Museum in Victoria.
Your Guide to Free Spirit: Stories of You, Me and BC
Visit the Free Spirit exhibition with your class. Use this teachers' guide to help plan your trip. It includes a suggested lesson plan, links to curriculum sites and ideas for ways you can engage your students both before and after your visit to the Royal BC Museum.
The Royal BC Museum is proud to support the education of British Columbia's school-aged children with free admission to exhibits and galleries.
